I've been using voice input mainly in English, but I'm currently learning another language that's in Cyrillic, and it seems to work fine. However, when I try speaking French, Claude doesn't seem to recognize any of my input at all. I can see the sound waves when I speak, but it's like Claude isn't hearing anything. Am I expecting too much from Claude? Could it be my settings? I've checked the voice input languages on my phone, and it works perfectly in other apps for various languages. Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might be running into some app limitations, especially with voice recognition. Have you tried using your keyboard's built-in dictation feature? I've found that it generally works better than Claude's voice input.
From what I've seen, Claude's voice recognition is mainly focused on English. That might be why it's struggling with French!
I thought Claude only recognized English voice commands, which might explain your experience. Maybe it just isn't set up for other languages yet?
That could be it! It did manage to pick up some of the basic vocabulary when I was practicing Ukrainian, but I was hoping for similar success with French.
Thanks for the suggestion! I tried the keyboard dictation, but it also doesn't seem to pick up my voice when Google voice-to-text is activated. Everything is up to date, so it's just strange.
