Why Isn’t My Gaming PC Performing as Well as I Expected?

I've had my gaming PC for a little while now, and I'm starting to feel like I'm not getting the performance I should be. Here's my setup:

- GPU: 4070 Super
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Gaming X AX V2
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 (I can't remember the MHz)
- PSU: Probably 700W or 750W, I need to double-check that.
- Monitor: 27" 1080p

With this setup, I expected to run games smoothly at high fps, but I'm struggling to get solid performance. Any ideas why?

First off, what games are you facing issues with? It might also help to check if your GPU and CPU are overheating while gaming. Sometimes thermal throttling can lead to performance drops.

I'm having issues with Doom: The Dark Ages, and for some reason, I can't get above 200 fps in Fortnite. When I played Doom, my fps was under 100.

Have you tried benchmarking your CPU and GPU? It would be great to compare your scores with similar setups to see if you’re falling short. That might give you an idea of where the performance gap is.

I haven't done that yet, to be honest. Not entirely sure how to go about benchmarking.
