I'm curious if pairing an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with 16GB of RAM and an RTX 3050 would allow me to achieve at least 70 frames per second in AAA games. Is this setup sufficient for that performance level?

I've had a good experience with an 8GB RTX 3050 at 1080p. If you got it for a good price, it's not bad. I paired mine with a 6700K and managed to stay around 60 FPS on a 60Hz 1080p TV, thanks to DLSS help. Should be okay for medium settings in most AAA games!

If you're specifically looking at the 3050 6GB, it's a no-go for solid FPS. The 8GB model might work, but honestly, you could get better performance by swapping in a Ryzen 5 3600 or 5500 and snagging a secondhand 5700XT for similar cash. You'd see way better FPS that way.

Honestly, the RTX 3050 isn't the most powerful card, even at release. While it might manage decent performance, especially with the Ryzen 5600G, don't expect to consistently hit 70+ FPS in all AAA titles. It's a decent combo for casual gaming, though.

If you're still deciding on the CPU, consider going with a standard Ryzen 5 5600 instead of the 5600G, especially if you're getting a dedicated GPU. The 5600G has less CPU performance due to its design catering to integrated graphics, which isn't necessary if you'll use a dGPU. Aim for at least a 3060 or a 6600 for better results!

You'll probably get decent FPS at 1080p with lower settings. It varies by game, so checking out YouTube benchmarks for your specific combo is a good idea. Sites like Tom's Hardware have useful testing videos, too!
