Is a 1000W UPS Sufficient for My PC Build?

Hey everyone! I recently got all the components for my PC build and just realized my current 850W UPS might not cut it. I have a powerful GPU, the 5090, and a 9950x3d CPU, and PCPartPicker shows my estimated wattage is around 917W. I plan to undervolt my GPU and game at 1080p (I know, not the most popular choice, but please keep it respectful if you reply!). Do you think a 1000W UPS will be enough, or do I need to consider something bigger? Also, just for reference, I have a 1600W Seasonic TX1600 PSU. Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, I think a 1000W UPS is going to be a bit tight for your setup. The 5090 is super powerful, and while you can undervolt it to save some wattage, you really don’t want to rely on that. I'd suggest investing a bit more in a 1200W PSU to be safe—I know it’s just an extra $50, but it could save you in the long run!

But you won't damage your card with a constant undervolt, right? A couple of FPS might be the trade-off, but it sounds like undervolting isn’t a huge risk. And just to clarify, the question was about a UPS, not a PSU.
