Hey everyone! I'm not very tech savvy, so I'm hoping for some guidance. I've got an i7 6700k and I'm looking to upgrade to a 5060 ti. I realize that my current setup might bottleneck the GPU, so I'm searching for some good yet budget-friendly CPU and motherboard options to pair with this new GPU. I don't have a specific budget but I'd prefer more affordable suggestions. I want to minimize the technical hassle during the upgrade, which is why I'm sticking with Nvidia rather than switching to AMD. By the way, I mistakenly mentioned that I have a 2070 before, but it's actually a 2060.

Honestly, I had a similar situation with an outdated CPU. I got an MSI Pro B550M motherboard for around $100 and a Ryzen 7 5700X for about $85 used. Upgrading to the 5060 ti 16GB made a world of difference. It's crucial to avoid the 8GB version if you can! Also, if you’re on a tight budget, consider the 9060 XT; it’s a close competitor to the 5060 ti.

That’s really encouraging to hear! It’s quite overwhelming with so many options out there, but knowing you had success helps a lot. Thanks!

If you're set on getting the 5060 ti, definitely go for the 16GB version to maximize performance. For a budget CPU, the Ryzen 5600 is a solid choice. You'll also need to upgrade to a B550 motherboard to support it. Trust me, this combo will give you a great balance without breaking the bank!

Check your hardware compatibility first! I faced issues after upgrading to a 5060 ti since my motherboard had trouble recognizing it, even with a decent PSU. If you run into a similar problem, the RX 9060XT is a great alternative that’s more consistent with fewer issues.
