Why Are My PC Fans So Loud When Gaming, and Should I Worry?

Hey everyone! So, I've been having a bit of an issue with my PC lately. I'm not super tech-savvy, so I hope I can explain it clearly. I have an Acer Predator G3-710 and I've noticed that the fans are getting really loud when I play certain games like Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, and even Minecraft. This has only started happening recently. For background, I've had this PC for about 5 years now, and until a few months ago, it was all good. Recently, after about two hours of gaming, my fans became incredibly loud, to the point where I was concerned something might go wrong. I cleaned out some dust from inside, but it didn't help with the noise. Should I be worried about this noise? Is it a sign of something serious, or is it normal for the fans to be loud under load? Any advice on what I should do would be super appreciated!

It sounds like you might need to do more than just clean the dust. Consider replacing the thermal paste on your CPU and giving your GPU a thorough cleaning, too. You might have to remove the GPU to clean it properly. Also, your case isn’t the best for airflow, which could be contributing to the issue. It might be worth looking into a better case that can help with cooling.

Yeah, that case design isn't doing you any favors. The back is mostly where your air can escape, and the side panels limit airflow. Definitely think about a new case and the thermal paste replacement!
