I've had my PC for about ten years now and have upgraded the RAM, but I'm contemplating my next move. I currently have a GTX 1050 Ti, but I've noticed that many games on Steam now list a GTX 1060 as the minimum requirement. I'm wondering if I should just upgrade my graphics card to something decent that can keep up for another decade, or if it's time to build an entirely new system instead. What do you think?

Can you provide your full specs like CPU, PSU, motherboard, and RAM? Software like HWInfo or Speccy can help you figure it out. Also, just a heads up, your 1050 Ti can still run some modern games listed with a 1060 as the minimum.
It really depends on the rest of your specs, but if your whole PC is just as old as your 1050 Ti, it might be better to build a new one from scratch. Upgrading one part on such an old setup might not give you the performance boost you're looking for.
Make sure to consider your CPU and PSU as well; that plays a big role in performance. If those are outdated too, upgrading just the GPU might not help much.
If your PC is ten years old, I recommend going for a new build. If budget is a concern, there are plenty of good used options that are 2-4 years old. Honestly, with an old system, any upgrades won’t offer much improvement since the components are so outdated.
Exactly! A modern GPU would just bottleneck with such an old CPU. It’s really not worth it at that stage.
You make a good point about the motherboard. I hadn’t considered that!
