Struggling with Compatibility Issues on My New Arc B580

Hey everyone! I just got my hands on a Sparkle TITAN Arc B580, planning to upgrade my entire setup eventually. However, when I boot up, the initial Boot screen only shows partially before it freezes on this weird static image of black and white lines. My system is pretty old, and I've already uninstalled all my graphics drivers in hopes of fixing this issue. Here are my specs:

- Asus Z-97a Motherboard
- i7 4790K Processor
- Sparkle TITAN Arc B580 GPU
- Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 1800MHz (DDR3)
- Crucial 1TB SSD

I've heard some friends say I might need to upgrade my motherboard and CPU, but I haven't seen anything online that backs that up. Can anyone help me out?

The Intel Arc B580 has quite specific requirements to function properly. You'll need a motherboard that supports at least a 10th Gen Intel Core processor or an AMD Ryzen 3000 series processor. Also, it needs a compatible PCI-Express motherboard with an x16 slot, a power supply of 600W or greater (with an 8-pin PCIe connector), and at least 8GB of RAM (16GB is recommended). Lastly, it's important to have either Windows 10 or 11 64-bit with Resizable BAR enabled for everything to run smoothly. This could be the reason you're experiencing issues!

Yeah, that's the first thing that jumped out at me when I looked up "B580 requirements". I even found something official from Intel saying that Resizable BAR must be enabled for optimal performance with the Arc B580. You might want to double-check that on your motherboard!

I think I meet all those requirements except for Resizable BAR... now I’m really worried that the card could be faulty!

What GPU were you using before this upgrade? Does that still work? Also, keep in mind that your system runs on PCI-E 3.0 without ReBAR support, which means the B580 could perform much worse than other GPUs. If you're not planning any upgrades soon, it might be worth swapping it for a different GPU for now!

I was using a GTX 970, which is still working well. I thought getting the new GPU would be a nice upgrade for the time being, then do a full build later. But now, seeing it freeze with just those lines makes me doubt my choice.
