Is My DDR5 RAM Compatible with My New Setup?

Hey folks! I just moved from an AM4 to an AM5 platform, and I'm using an ASUS Tuf Gaming B650m-e motherboard along with a Ryzen 7600 processor. I have a couple of 16GB sticks from XPG, specifically the AX5U6000C48 16G-SLABBK model. However, after assembling everything, my system won't post, and the DRAM light stays on without any video output. I've checked the motherboard's website, and unfortunately, my RAM model isn't listed as a tested stick. I've tried updating the BIOS, switching the DIMM slots, and clearing the CMOS, but I'm still facing the same issue. Am I just out of luck with these RAM sticks?

Good news! Both sticks are actually working now. I managed to boot into the OS using one stick at a time in the last RAM slot (B2) but none of the other slots seem to work. Is this a compatibility issue, or should I consider returning the motherboard instead?

It sounds like you might have some underlying damage, either on the motherboard or the CPU. I’d wager that bent pins are causing these issues.

Make sure to double-check that your CPU is seated correctly and that there are no bent pins or debris in the CPU socket. While it’s possible to end up with a faulty RAM kit, it seems improbable that both sticks would be defective. If you can’t get it to work, returning the RAM might be easier than tearing everything down to troubleshoot.

Did you buy those RAM sticks as a kit or separately? If they're not on the Qualified Vendor List (QVL), it makes it less likely they’ll work properly with your motherboard.
