Will a 5700X3D be a good upgrade for my setup until AM6?

I recently snagged an amazing deal on a brand new 5070 Ti for 600€ to replace my 3070, but I'm currently stuck with an AM4 setup using a 5600X. I've been running into some performance issues with older games at 1440p—my GPU usage is hovering around 70%. I've read that upgrading to a 5700X3D could help with reducing bottlenecks. Do you think it would satisfy my gaming needs, or will I feel the need to jump to AM5 soon for better RAM speed and a beefier processor? Ideally, I'd like my GPU to run closer to 90%. I'm currently playing games like Monster Hunter World, Baldur's Gate 3, Apex Legends, and Marvel Rivals. On my radar for the next Steam sale are Elden Ring, Black Myth: Wukong, and Spider-Man 2. Thanks for any insights!

The only time I'd recommend the 5700X3D is if you can grab it for around $160 or less. Otherwise, saving up for an AM5 setup makes more sense.

In my opinion, using a 5700X3D with your 5070 Ti doesn’t make much sense. It feels like putting a tiny motor on a race car chassis. Instead, I'd suggest going for a 97500X3D or better. If you're considering waiting for AM6, I wouldn't. I'd just go straight for a 99800X3D now instead! Hope that helps!

Honestly, I can't say for sure, but I'm excited to see how it works out!

I upgraded to the 5700X3D with my 5070 Ti, and it's a solid combo! I haven't noticed any bottlenecking from the CPU, and considering the costs of jumping to AM5 (motherboard, CPU, and RAM), it hardly seems worth it. Just make sure you find a decent deal, since the 5700X3D isn’t being produced anymore.

From my experience, the 5700X should hold up well. Even with Discord and recording running, I rarely see it go above 60% usage. It really depends on your GPU though. My 3060 Ti tends to run at over 80%, so for me, that's where the bottleneck is.

You might be fine sticking with the 5600X for now. Just try it out and see if the performance meets your expectations.
