Why is my PC so slow after upgrading the RAM?

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my PC's RAM to a Kingston Fury 2x32GB 3200MHz kit, but I'm facing some serious issues. Initially, it wouldn't boot due to the XMP profile from my old RAM being active. I had to put my old RAM back, reset the XMP settings, and then reinstall the Fury kit. After a CMOS reset, the PC booted, but now it's extremely slow. Windows takes ages to respond to clicks, and even the mouse movement feels like it's lagging at 1 FPS! I've checked Task Manager and nothing is overloading the CPU. I've tried reseating the RAM, putting the old RAM back, and resetting Windows. I'm hoping to avoid a complete teardown since my PC is a small form factor. The NZXT app shows the CPU and GPU are clocked properly, yet they're running below 50% utilization. Any ideas on what's going wrong? I'm really close to just giving up and getting a new PC altogether. Thanks in advance!

It might be worth updating your BIOS. Some RAM just doesn't play well together, and if nothing else works, a Windows reinstall is a last resort.

My BIOS is already updated. Do I need to reinstall it again?

Have you tried moving the RAM to the other slots? Sometimes it can help to switch things up a bit.

It's a mini ITX board, so I'm a bit limited on where I can put the RAM.

You might want to try reinstalling your GPU driver and enabling CSM in the BIOS. It disables ReBAR, which might solve your issue temporarily. It helped me once!

CSM didn't help. Actually, I can't even get past the BIOS screen now, so I can’t try reinstalling the driver yet.

Update: Reinstalling the GPU driver didn't help, but you were right about the GPU being a problem. I found out my RTX 4080 was using a Gen 3 riser from my old 3070 setup. After I changed the BIOS back to Gen 3 from the reset, everything's working fine now. Thanks!

Make sure to check the temperatures and ensure everything is seated properly. A CMOS reset along with restoring BIOS to default settings might help too.

I've done a CMOS reset and reset the BIOS to default, but it's still sluggish.
