I'm planning to upgrade my setup and I have an EVGA 500W 80 Plus power supply with a 4+4 CPU connector. My new motherboard, the MSI B650 Gaming WIFI, requires two 8-pin connectors. Can I use the 4+4 from my PSU, or should I look for one with a proper 8-pin? I was thinking about upgrading the PSU later in the year when I get a new GPU.

The 8-pin (4+4) connector is typically sufficient for most CPUs. The second one is usually only necessary for high-end processors that are overclocked. Also, remember that a true 8-pin is the same as the split 4+4, just a different connector style!
You'll be good with the 4+4 setup unless you're planning on some heavy overclocking. Most CPUs won't require two 8-pins, so you're set for now!
You don't need to stress about having two 8-pins. Your current PSU will definitely handle it without any issues.
Yeah, using that 4+4 to make one complete 8-pin for your CPU should work just fine!
I'm currently using an i5 7400, but I'm upgrading to a Ryzen 5 9600X!
