Hey folks! I'm in a bit of a jam and could really use your help. We recently transitioned from having two domains under the same tenant to creating a new tenant for one of those domains. Specifically, we deleted the mailboxes for '@company2.com' from the old tenant and set them up anew in the new one. The problem is that users are unable to log into apps like Outlook and other Office applications. They get an error (which I've tried to attach a screenshot of). However, they can log in via the web without issues. I've already attempted several fixes: clearing Outlook's cache by deleting the roaming cache folder, repairing the app, resetting it, and even uninstalling and reinstalling Office through the portal. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Thanks!

I saw your error screenshot. A common fix is to log in using '@onmicrosoft.com' or '@domain.onmicrosoft.com' (just make sure to leave the field before '@' empty). It worked for others facing similar issues. Don't forget to clear your browser and app cache first!
If you're still experiencing issues, you might want to check if the apps were still linked to the old tenant. Sometimes devices stick to their old accounts, which can cause login problems. Also, trying to log in using the format '[email protected]' instead of the usual email might just do the trick! Clarifying browser and app cache might help too.
Great point! I had to do that the last time I dealt with a tenant switch. It definitely can make a difference!
It might help to try logging in with a clean user profile to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes previous settings can interfere when switching tenants. Also, I found a comprehensive script that can assist with tenant migration issues. It could simplify the troubleshooting process for you if nothing else works. Check out this Microsoft guide for some initial steps: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/troubleshoot/activation/reset-office-365-proplus-activation-state. If those don't work, run the scripts to clear out all the old tenant info—those usually do the trick!
Yeah, I've had similar problems during migrations. The scripts really helped me clear everything out properly.
Same here! That worked wonders resolving my login troubles, thanks for sharing!
