I recently finished building my PC and during cable management, I had to remove my 5070 Ti. When I reinserted it, my monitor stayed black at startup, which was concerning because everything was fine before. I realized I hadn't fully seated the GPU in the PCIe slot. After fixing that, everything works again, but I'm worried that I might have somehow damaged the card in the process. Is that possible? Thanks for any reassurance!

Chances are extremely low that you did any damage. If it’s working now, you’re likely in the clear!
We can't say for sure that there was no damage, but it's really, really unlikely that you harmed the card. Don’t stress too much about it!
There are these sense pins on the PCIe slot that prevent damage. If your card wasn’t fully seated, one of those pins wouldn’t make contact, so it would cut power to avoid shorts. If it powers up now, it probably means everything’s fine!
It's possible, but honestly, it's pretty unlikely that you caused any damage. It might help to watch this video for some peace of mind.
Thanks, I read about those pins! My card seems to have only one at the front. Since my card wasn't fully pushed down at the back, would that pin still work to protect it?
