I have an older Samsung TV, and I've been having a strange issue while watching shows on Netflix. Last night, the screen suddenly went dark, but the audio continued playing. At first, I thought it was my Roku device, so I restarted it, but that didn't help. Then I tried restarting the Netflix app and even changed the HDMI cable thinking that might be the problem. Initially, it seemed like I fixed it since the TV stayed on while on the Roku home screen for an entire day. But when I switched to YouTube, the screen went dark again after just five minutes, although the audio kept playing. The weird part is I can still navigate with the Roku despite the dark screen, and the only way to restore the display is to turn the TV off and back on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do you use the Samsung TV's audio, or do you have separate speakers? Also, does your TV show a no signal message when the screen goes dark? My Samsung usually displays a message right after losing the signal, so that might help you narrow things down.
It sounds like your TV might not be the issue since it handled the Roku home screen just fine. It's likely that the problem lies with the Roku itself. Maybe the chip that processes the video content is overheating and causing it to fail when trying to display video. You could check if the Roku device is overheating or if there are any updates available for it.
So it’s a Roku problem? Because I'd prefer to swap that out instead of replacing the TV!
The audio goes through the TV, and I don’t get any message—it just suddenly goes dark as if the TV turned off.
