I'm relocating from Oregon to Pennsylvania and need to take two PC towers with me. Unfortunately, I no longer have the original packaging, and finding suitable boxes has been a challenge. I'll be fitting everything into my Camry, so I need practical packing solutions that won't take up excessive space. My current strategy involves removing the graphics cards and placing them in anti-static bags with additional cushioning. For the PC towers, I'm considering using a dedicated PC travel bag, adding some Insta-Pak for protection. What are some alternative methods I could use to pack the PCs and GPUs? Should I remove any other components?

If your PCs have tower coolers, lying them on their sides works well since it keeps the motherboard flat. If you have AIO coolers, you don't need to do anything special. Just be careful with your GPUs; removing them is a smart move to avoid any accidents on the road. Just secure everything in place with cushions or soft materials to prevent movement.
Definitely remove the GPU — they're pretty heavy and can get damaged if they wiggle loose during the drive. The rest of the components should be fine to leave connected, but it's always a good idea to unplug them if you're worried about any movement.
I've moved my PC a few times, and I recommend laying it on its side with the GPU vertical. It seems to work best for keeping everything safe. If you're driving, the risk of damage is minimal unless you hit significant bumps, so packing it securely should be enough. Just make sure to check that everything is properly screwed in when you arrive.
Totally agree! I've transported my PC multiple times and never had an issue as long as I secure it well. Just make sure it’s safe and snug.
