How Can I Install a Wi-Fi Driver on Linux Mint from an SD Card?

I just installed Linux Mint on my Acer Aspire, but I'm having trouble because I'm missing the Wi-Fi driver. I couldn't find a way to transfer the driver to my laptop without using an FTP server to connect my phone to my Nintendo 3DS and then installing it from the 3DS SD card. Is this even possible? Where can I find the driver files to get my Wi-Fi working?

First, check your Wi-Fi card by running `lspci` in the terminal. Sometimes, Mediatek Wi-Fi cards aren’t fully supported. If you find out your card is Mediatek, search online for others who have faced similar problems with that specific Wi-Fi card. Also, if you can, try connecting your smartphone via USB and enable USB tethering. That's a quick way to get internet on your laptop!

Just a heads-up, always include details about your distro and specific hardware when asking for tech support. It really helps others assist you better! For your situation, make sure you're using the latest version of Mint since that might have some driver improvements.

It sounds like you're running into some driver issues. You mentioned your laptop model is Acer Aspire A315-59. Those can sometimes have hiccups with drivers out of the box. Make sure to check the official Acer support site for Linux drivers. They might have what you need or point you to the right direction!
