Need Help with CPU Cooling for My New Build

Hey everyone, I'm putting together a budget gaming PC intended for 1080p gaming and basic streaming. My build includes a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 Super. However, during stress tests, I've noticed that my CPU is overheating. Right now, I'm using the standard AMD heatsink. Is it necessary to upgrade to a more robust cooler? If so, which models would you recommend that would fit in my Mars Gaming MCS1 case?

The stock cooler that comes with the Ryzen 3600 is decent for general use, but it can run a bit hot during stress testing as it's not designed for heavy workloads. If noise isn't an issue for you, it's okay for light tasks, but an upgrade is definitely wise for gaming and streaming to avoid overheating.

Yeah, I've experienced the noisy fan with the stock cooler during longer sessions. Better to invest in something more efficient.

Your case isn't the best for airflow, which could be a part of the overheating issue. You might want to look into a new CPU cooler, or consider upgrading your case to improve ventilation overall.

How hot is 'too hot' for you? What temps are you hitting during tests? If your CPU is reaching 95°C, that's definitely on the high side and could lead to throttling. Considering an aftermarket cooler like the Thermalright Assassin X 90 SE could really help keep those temps under control.

Yeah, I'm seeing that 95°C too. Lowered my CPU frequency just to be safe.

The issue with stock coolers is they're usually pretty limited, like an 80-90mm fan on a heatsink. You're best off using an aftermarket cooler with heat pipes and a larger fan to manage temps effectively during stress tests. Just double-check that it fits in your case before purchasing!

Good point! I just hope a 120mm fan cooler fits in my case.
