I'm looking to build my first PC and want it to handle a variety of tasks such as gaming, programming, and 3D modeling. Since I'm a total newbie, I want to avoid spending too much on components that have extra features I'll never use. What parts do you recommend for my needs?

Check out this build I put together on PCPartPicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Dxr7FZ. I recommend the Ryzen 9 if you're serious about both gaming and 3D modeling, but be cautious since it can get pricey. Ryzen 7 is a bit cheaper, just make sure you pick the right version.

I don’t know where you are located, but if you're in the US, here’s a link to a suggested build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RYr7FZ. I think you’ll get better performance bang for your buck with an Intel CPU rather than AMD, plus stick with 64GB of RAM for your productivity tasks. For 3D modeling and CAD, you’ll want Nvidia graphics for the CUDA advantage, which works great for gaming too.
For a solid build, I recommend looking at CPUs like the Ryzen 7500F or the Intel 9600 series, paired with a GPU like the AMD 7600 or Nvidia 9070. Aim for 32GB of RAM at 6000MHz for smooth multitasking. A B650 or B850 motherboard should fit well too. This setup will give you the best performance without breaking the bank!
I’d suggest going with an Intel CPU instead—like the $260 Intel 265k—for better value. And considering you’ll be doing 3D modeling, bumping up to 64GB of RAM might be wise to avoid bottlenecks.
