I really need some help! I encrypted some files on my PC a while back, and since then, every document I worked on got encrypted. Recently, I formatted my computer and moved my important documents to a flash drive before doing so. But now, I can't open those files because they're still encrypted, and I don't have the permissions to access them. Microsoft says they're probably lost forever, but I'm hoping third-party software can help me recover them. Is there any way around this?

Just a heads-up, getting access to those files could be pretty tricky. If all else fails, quantum computers might be the future solution, but that's more of a joke than anything right now!
Unfortunately, if you don’t have the password or private key that was used for encryption, those files are likely gone for good.
What software or encryption method did you use? If it was something like BitLocker, there might still be a chance.
Do you know how these files were encrypted? That could help narrow down potential solutions.
