Hey everyone! I'm a college student in the US and I'm trying to build a PC primarily for gaming and video editing. My budget is about $1000, and I want to get the best performance I can within that range. I've put together a parts list on PCPartPicker and would love your opinions or suggestions for improvement! Here's the link to my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g79JDj. Thanks in advance for any help!

Definitely consider going with a slightly different CPU cooler or motherboard for future upgrades, but you've got a good foundation here. Just double-check those components for optimal performance with the 3060 if you stick to it!
I’d definitely recommend skipping the 3060. For just a bit more, you could grab a 16GB RX 5600 XT which offers about 50% better performance! Especially since new cards are hitting the market, I wouldn't settle for the 3060. As for the power supply, 750W should give you enough overhead for upgrades later on without a hitch.
If you want a little more power, here's another build option for you. I didn’t include a case since that's personal preference, but it should keep you right around $1000. Check this out: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zrGBdb.
Your build looks solid, but I think you could optimize it a bit. For a better overall setup, here’s a revision you might like, sticking to a similar budget. Also, consider that the 850W power supply seems a bit excessive—750W should be sufficient for a build with a 3060, allowing for future upgrades.
Yeah, I'm also thinking about changing the GPU, especially since the 3060 is a bit outdated now. Thanks for the tips!
That’s a good point! I'd suggest looking into other GPUs too; maybe consider a different model that offers better performance for a similar price.
