Hey everyone,
I'm looking at the Asus ROG Strix B850i motherboard for my build, and I noticed it's about 19% cheaper on Amazon compared to my local store. However, I'm worried about the lack of warranty if something fails after the return period. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Just how common are motherboard failures? Thanks!

Buying from Amazon can still mean you get a valid warranty, just like you would from a physical store. Generally speaking, if a motherboard works fine in the first month, it’s unlikely to fail later because most failures happen early or late in their lifespan.
Just keep in mind that when purchasing from Amazon, items might be supplied by third-party sellers, which can occasionally lead to getting refurbished products. I'd recommend spending a little extra to buy from a more reliable source where you can ensure you're getting a brand new component.
Thanks for the tip!
I've had three ASUS motherboards, and one of them has died twice, leading to replacements. If you decide to go with Amazon, make sure to check the seller's warranty and confirm its validity online. Typically, you should receive a full warranty for a new board, and motherboards are among the parts that tend to fail more often than others.
It's interesting to see the mix of experiences. I've personally used ASUS boards for over 30 years without any issues.
Thanks for the insight! From your experience, does that mean ASUS isn't the best brand? Any recommendations for a solid AM5 mini ITX board?
True, just be mindful of the seller. Most reputable brands have their own storefronts on Amazon, and I've ordered parts from them without any issues.
