Hey everyone! I have this old monitor, and I'm confused about what the various ports on it are. I've got a DisplayPort, an older blue port with screws (I think it's VGA), a yellow port that looks somewhat like the blue one—any idea what that could be? And finally, there's a rounded square port that I believe is a Mini HDMI. I'm struggling to find a way to connect my HDMI source to this DisplayPort monitor. Any insights would be super helpful!

The blue port with screws is most likely a VGA port, which is an older video standard. The yellow port that resembles VGA might be a game port used for connecting older gaming devices. As for the rounded square one, that's probably a USB B port. If your computer has HDMI input, you can use a DisplayPort to HDMI cable.
If you can find the model number on your monitor, it might help to check online for its specs.
You could connect your computer to the monitor using a DisplayPort cable. Just make sure your setup allows it first! Check out options like this DisplayPort to HDMI converter if you need to make a different kind of connection.
Adapters are super handy too, especially if you’re on a budget!
Or it might be cheaper to just get an HDMI to DVI cable instead!
Without pictures, it's tricky, but from what you described, that older blue port is definitely VGA and the yellow one likely connects to old gaming devices. The other one? Possibly Mini HDMI, but you might need to confirm with images or the manual.
I just looked it up and it's an HP EliteDisplay E231. Not familiar with that model though...
Yeah, I admit I'm not great with display tech either!
USB B definitely sounds correct! Some monitors have USB ports for accessories.
