I'm putting together my first PC build and would love some advice on my selected components. Here's what I have so far:
- **GPU**: RX 580 (already owned)
- **CPU**: Intel Core i3 12100F OEM
- **COOLER**: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE
- **RAM**: 16 GB DDR4
- **MOTHERBOARD**: ASUS Prime B660M-K D4
- **CASE**: DeepCool MATREXX 30 SI
- **SSD**: 256 GB & 2 TB HDD (also already owned)
Are these components good for a starting setup, or do I need to change anything? Thanks for your input!

For storage, you might want to consider NVME SSDs if you haven’t already. They’re way faster than regular HDDs. But if you’re managing just fine, no need to stress about it yet!
While the RX 580 will work, it’s an older card and might struggle with newer titles. I suggest considering a CPU upgrade later on since the Intel i3 12100F is on the lower end. Good news is your motherboard supports 12th, 13th, and 14th gen CPUs, so you’ll be able to upgrade down the line without changing everything.
That's reassuring! I was also worried about upgrading the CPU easily. Thanks for the heads up!
Just keep an eye on the prices; some users upgrade to DDR5 and you might find some good used DDR4 RAM as well.
Your setup looks solid for a beginner! The RX 580 is a decent card and should handle most games on lower settings without any issues. Just don’t forget to check out games like RDR2—it was my first game on a similar build, and it was a blast!
Yeah, I keep optimizing my storage, but it’s manageable for now. Just glad it’s working!
