Is Pursuing Programming a Smart Choice at 22?

I've been learning programming for about six months and I genuinely enjoy it. Solving problems and coding is super fun for me! However, I'm feeling a bit lost about my future career. I'm 22 and still trying to find my path. I love programming, but I'm worried about investing too much time into this skill and not being able to turn it into a career. While it's not just about the money, I do need some guidance on whether to continue down the programming route or consider something entirely different, like construction. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Honestly, it sounds like you're doing fine. Starting to explore programming at 22 is totally okay! Many people switch careers at various ages. If you're really enjoying coding, dive deeper – build projects, contribute to open source, or even start a blog about your learning experiences. It can help clarify your path. Construction can be rewarding too, but if your passion's in programming, keep chasing that!

Yeah, but how do I know I won't regret not trying something else, like construction?

It sounds like you're in a common situation! You enjoy programming, which is a great start. Don't let the fear of the field dying out hold you back. Programming is more integrated into every industry than people realize. If you can see yourself enjoying it long-term, I say keep going! There's a lot of demand for skilled programmers right now, so it's worth continuing your studies. Focus on building projects and gaining experience. It could open a lot of doors for you!

I still feel anxious about the future, especially with so many videos claiming programming careers are fading. It makes me doubly unsure.
