I've had my PC for about 3 or 4 years, and it's been great for everything I need. Recently, I tried to upgrade to Windows 11, but I found out that my specs won't support it. I want to ensure I can run new games and use OBS without issues. I'm not sure where to begin with upgrades, and I'd like to keep my budget around $500. I don't mind purchasing parts from eBay. Here are my current specs: H81M-A motherboard, Intel i5-4590, 8GB of RAM, Nvidia RTX 2060 (6GB), and 2TB of internal storage with an additional 1TB external drive.

For your budget, the best move would be to upgrade your GPU; that will give you a significant performance boost. Also, consider adding more RAM to reach at least 16GB. Just a heads-up, your CPU and motherboard are pretty old (around 11 years), so while you could look into a full new build, the GPU and RAM upgrades are the most impactful for now. It might also be worth checking out the build suggestions over at r/buildapcforme for different upgrade options if you ever think of going that route.
I’ve been considering getting a new motherboard paired with a Ryzen 5 7600X and 12GB of RAM for better performance. Thanks for the advice!
