I'm curious if it's possible to have multiple desktop environments (DEs) installed on my Linux system without running into issues. I'm currently using Endeavour OS with the standard Plasma, and I'm interested in setting up a new user account for Plasma Mobile since I'm using a 2-in-1 device to get the full Linux tablet experience. However, I've noticed that the Wi-Fi doesn't work for the Plasma Mobile admin user. I've heard that it's generally not advised to have two DEs installed simultaneously—is that true? Is there a way for me to 'dual boot' between Plasma and Plasma Mobile, even with different user accounts?

I haven't had any issues with multiple DEs on my system. I've got a few installed, and everything's been running fine, even if I'm still a bit of a Linux newbie. So, I'm keen to hear what others think about this too!
When you have two DEs, you're likely to encounter conflicts since they often come with their own file managers and settings, which can lead to some weird issues. However, you should be okay with Plasma and Plasma Mobile since they share a lot of resources. Just remember, you can always uninstall if it doesn’t work out!
Thanks for clarifying that! I feel a bit more confident about trying it now.
