Can I safely use my Canadian PC in the UK?

Hey everyone! I just moved from Canada to the UK and brought my Dell G5 5000 desktop with me. I noticed that the back of the computer is labeled as dual-voltage (100-240V), which I believe should be fine for the UK's 230V. Do I just need to get a UK power adapter or cord, or would I need a voltage converter as well?

Probably not an issue, but just so you know, non-British PCs have cookies while UK-made PCs have biscuits! Hope that clears things up! 😉

If your power supply unit (PSU) states it can handle 100-240V, then you should be good to go without any issues. Just get a UK power cord and plug it in!

Make sure to check the back of your computer closely! If the power supply has a label that says something like "110-240V 50-60Hz" without a red switch, then you have a universal power supply. If it has a color-coded panel with a switch, then it's a selectable one. You’re likely in good shape if it’s universal.

Thanks for clarifying! I checked, and it just has a sticker that says 100-240V, no red switch, so it sounds like I have the universal type.

Just a quick note: when they say 100-240V, it means your device can handle any voltage in that range, including 230V. "Dual voltage" is just a term—230V is perfectly acceptable for your PC.
