Hey everyone! I recently salvaged an old eMachine T2042 along with its accessories from the curb, and I'm excited to use it for retro gaming since it's running Windows XP. The folks over on another forum suggested I get a graphics card, specifically the GeForce 6600. However, I quickly discovered that the motherboard lacks a PCIe 16 slot, which is necessary for that graphics card. I'm wondering if I should return the card or if there are any adapters available? Considering the age of the machine, I'm looking for vintage parts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I've also linked some images in the thread below to help. Thanks!

Yeah, that GeForce 6600 is definitely not going to work without a PCIe slot. You might be able to find some decent AGP cards online. Don't forget to check the specs of the games you want to play to ensure compatibility!
You'll need to look for an AGP video card since your motherboard is likely equipped with an AGP slot, not PCIe. Unfortunately, there isn't a PCIe adapter for older systems like yours. So, it's best to find an AGP compatible graphics card instead.
Good idea! I'll start researching AGP options. Thanks for the tip!
