Hey everyone! So, I've found myself in a bit of a pickle. I was planning to build a PC but unfortunately, due to my disability worsening, I had to delay things. I finally got some help today, but when I tried to install the **Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB** onto my **Asus ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard**, it turned out to be too bulky for the **Gamemax Nova N6** case I bought. I'm looking for a new case that has good airflow and can fit the following components, while also having an internal clearance of 8.5 inches. Aesthetics are not a priority for me, so I just need something that works. Any suggestions? Here are the parts I'm working with:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB
- Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI ATX AM5
- Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 96 GB DDR5
- Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 1 TB
- Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7600 XT
- Power Supply: SeaSonic Focus GX V4 1000 W

I have a similar setup (with an MSI 4090) and I'm using a Fractal Meshify 2. It fits perfect and has great airflow! It's about 40mm wider than your Gamemax, which might be the solution you're looking for.
Hey! I don't have a specific case in mind, but I think it would really help if you check for a product manual or spec sheet next time. They usually include clearance info that can save you from situations like this!
Yeah, I should've thought to check! I was a bit stressed and just assumed the clearance disclaimer covered everything.
The cooler should actually fit with 2mm to spare. Are you sure it’s not just an unusually tall motherboard that's causing the issue?
Honestly, it's both. My friend had to be super careful when trying to fit it. The motherboard seemed really tight, and the cooler was definitely on the thick side. I double-checked that the cooler was securely screwed to the motherboard.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out the Meshify 2.
