Will the Price of the RTX 4060 Drop Over the Next Year?

I'm a student planning to enter university next year, and I'm interested in building a gaming PC. With the recent launch of the new 5000 series GPUs, I'm hoping that prices for the RTX 4000 and 3000 series will drop. Do you think it's a good idea to wait for a year for potentially lower prices on the RTX 4060? I'm particularly curious about how this might play out, especially considering I'm based in India.

It’s likely that prices won’t drop for the RTX 4060. Since Nvidia has discontinued the 40 series, including the 4060, stock will likely run low over time, which usually means prices hold or even rise. By next year, the newer 5060 or 9060 models may offer better value than an older 4060.

Honestly, I wouldn’t count on a price drop. Nvidia seems to be focusing more on selling to the AI market rather than the DIY gaming community, which means they’re not incentivized to lower their prices for GPUs like the 4060. Unless we see a major shift in the AI market, prices might stay as they are, or even rise due to limited availability.
