I have a Hynix NVMe SSD with a purple sticker on it, and I'm wondering if it's okay to remove it. My motherboard comes with a heat sink for the NVMe SSD, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference when it comes to the sticker. Any advice on what to do?

You might want to keep that sticker on! Some of these stickers actually help with heat dispersion, and taking it off could void your warranty, depending on where you live. It’s usually a better idea to leave it as is unless you know for sure it’s causing issues.
Check the instructions that came with your SSD. If they don't mention the sticker, you might not need to worry about it. But if your sticker wasn’t shown in any diagrams, then it’s a good idea to double-check to avoid any mistakes.
If that sticker is pressing against the heat sink, then sure, go ahead and remove it. But honestly, it’s unlikely to cause a smell unless your SSD is getting super hot. In that case, OP, just leave the sticker; it's nothing to worry about.
That sticker could be a thin copper one designed for heat distribution, so it’s generally fine to leave it on. If you’re planning on using a heatsink with thermal pads, it shouldn't cause any problems. Of course, if you’re aiming for the absolute highest cooling performance during heavy use, you could consider removing it, but it’s probably unnecessary for most tasks.
