I have a big Acer PC that really heats up my room after just 30 minutes of gaming, making it feel like a sauna. My air conditioning isn't helping much since the thermostat is located in another room. During winter, I could simply open my window to cool things down, but that's not an option in the summer. I'm considering getting a portable AC unit that vents outside my room because my window isn't compatible with typical units. I'd love to hear any suggestions or alternative solutions you've found for this issue. Thanks!

Using a box fan could help circulate the air in and out of the room. Also, finding ways to improve your PC's cooling efficiency can make a difference. If your window can't fit typical AC designs, there are models that come with a vent hose that can work with windows that open a few inches if you have that option.
One solid solution is to decentralize the heat. If you can't manage to vent the heat outside with fans or an AC unit, consider relocating your PC to another room entirely. That way, you avoid heating up your space while gaming.
I might try a box fan; however, I prefer keeping my door shut. Plus, since I need my PC to be at peak performance for other tasks, I can't really tone it down much. I’m also thinking about designing a custom exhaust for a portable AC to fit under the door, but I'm not sure how practical that is.
