What Should I Do After Spilling Mate on My Notebook?

I accidentally spilled mate on my Galaxy Book 2 Pro about an hour ago. To minimize damage, I have it upside down and I'm trying to dry it between the keys, but I can't remove them. I've come across some advice online suggesting to take it to a professional for cleaning because of potential oxidation, especially since I got a blue screen after the spill. Do I really need to take it in right away? Is there anything I can do myself at home, considering I've never opened a device before? Also, how long can I leave it before it might get worse? I have final projects due soon on 7/11, so I need my notebook functional for that. I apologize if this has been asked before, but my searches haven't been fruitful.

If your notebook blue screened and won't boot, it might be time to seek professional help. You can try removing the drive and hooking it up to another computer if you have that option. Just keep in mind that the damage might be worse than just a simple spill.

The blue screen was checking for damage, and I turned it off. Should I wait another 48 hours before trying again, or is it fine to check if it powers up?

It’s tough to say, but if you’re really feeling anxious, waiting might be the best option to prevent further damage.

You should definitely take some immediate action! Try setting it up like a tent to let any residual liquid drip out while using a fan to help dry it. Wait at least 24 hours before you try turning it on again, just to be safe.

I built the tent as suggested, but I heard a weird frying noise from my charger! I'm trying to find a fan, but things are getting stressful!

I had a similar experience! I just left mine out for two days and it surprisingly worked fine after that.
