Is My PC Build Well-Balanced for Gaming?

I've been gaming on computers for most of my life but I'm new to building one myself. I'm aiming for a mid to high end setup that can handle both my 4K and 1080p monitors. I plan to later buy a better graphics card, but for now, I'll use my RTX 3060 12 GB. Here's what I have so far for my parts list:
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE - $221.61 (currently on sale about $20 off)
- PSU: MONTECH CENTURY II - 1200W - $129.90
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X - $319.99 (on sale for around $200 off)
- RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 6000 - $209.99
- CPU Cooler: ARCTIC COOLING Liquid Freezer III - 360 A-RGB - $159.99
- Storage: KingSpec XG 7000 4TB NVME - $200.99
- Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow - $159.29

I'd love to get any advice or feedback about my build. I haven't ordered anything yet, so I'm open to changes!

One more thing: I noticed you haven't listed prices in your build post initially, which doesn’t help with checking compatibility and cost-effectiveness. It's good to add that for future reference!

I’ve updated my original post to include all the prices now!

I agree with the previous comment about the CPU and RAM. The Ryzen 7 5800X is a great alternative too. For the PSU, if you're planning on upgrading the GPU in the future, a good 850W would be just right and save you some cash. And about storage, do you really need 4TB just for games? You might want to think about how many you’ll realistically keep installed.

I prefer having plenty of space so I don’t need to constantly delete games. I guess I'll just keep an eye on usage.

Honestly, I think you might want to reconsider the CPU. The Ryzen 9 7900X isn't really the best for gaming. Most people are suggesting something like the Ryzen 7 7600X for a more balanced performance.

Also, the 1200W PSU is way too much unless you're planning to run something really power-hungry like the 5090 later on. A 750W or even 850W would cover you fine for your current setup and leave some headroom for future upgrades. As for RAM, 64GB is overkill; 32GB is usually more than enough for gaming nowadays.

That makes sense! I was just worried about future-proofing, but I’ll definitely check out those CPU options and reconsider the PSU.

Use pcpartpicker.com to check for balance and compatibility. Generally, the 7900X has more cores than you need for gaming—CPUs like the 7600X might be a better fit without sacrificing performance. Plus, you can avoid overspending on unnecessary features.
