I'm looking to upgrade my PC from a Ryzen 5 5600X. I originally thought about getting the 5800X3D, but the prices (about €260 to €300, or $250 to $350) are a bit steep for me. Instead, I found a new 5700X3D for around €225 ($260). However, I just came across a new 5800X for only €140 ($160), and now I'm stuck trying to decide whether to stick with the 5700X3D or return it for the cheaper 5800X. I primarily use my PC for gaming, although not as much as I'd like due to work and family commitments. I mostly play Cities Skylines 2, EA FC 25, and some other graphics-heavy games like God of War 2. My current GPU is a Radeon RX 6750XT OC. What do you all think? What would be the best move for me?

From what I see, the 5800X is more of a sidegrade from the 5600X for most games. The 5700X3D has shown clear improvements. Stick with it and wait a bit until you feel ready to upgrade further!
Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about the prices. The 5700X3D is a great choice, especially since it competes neck and neck with AMD’s latest AM5 chips. Plus, it has better longevity for gaming.
Yeah, I got mine for around €190 recently, so I think it's worth it if you can find a good deal.
I think you should stick with the 5700X3D. A non-X3D CPU like the 5800X won't give you any noticeable performance boost compared to your 5600X, especially for gaming. The X3D chip is definitely a better investment for your gaming setup!
I had a Ryzen 5 5600X before upgrading to the 5700X3D. I noticed about a 10% boost in average FPS and improved 1% lows by around 15%. Those gains can make a noticeable difference in gaming, so I’d recommend going with the 5700X3D.
Did you test it with any GPU heavy games? I bet the performance shows even more in those situations.
What games are you playing? I’m curious if your gains are across the board or specific to certain titles.
If you're mainly gaming, keeping the 5700X3D is the way to go. It really outperforms the 5800X in gaming scenarios, and you won't regret it down the line.
Exactly! People often overlook how good the X3D series is for gaming. It's better investment for the future than the 5800X.
