Why won’t Google Chrome on my phone connect to WiFi properly?

I've got a weird issue with Google Chrome on my phone. When I connect to my WiFi, everything else works fine, but Chrome acts like my internet is either super slow or not connected at all. Pages take ages to load, or it just tells me I'm offline. I have to use my mobile data, which is a problem since I only get 15GB per month. My fiber optic internet is pretty fast, so it's confusing. It's worth mentioning that Chrome does work fine when I connect to different WiFi networks or a mobile hotspot. Also, it runs perfectly on my other devices like my laptop and tablet. Anyone know how to fix this?

Are there any specific network settings for apps on your phone? Sometimes, those can interfere with individual apps. If you can, check and reset those settings if needed!

No, I don’t have any special settings for individual apps.

You could factory reset your phone, but I doubt it’ll help since Chrome works elsewhere. It’s more of a last resort, but if nothing else works, it might be worth a shot.

What would that do? I mean, Chrome is fine on different WiFi.

Have you tried uninstalling Chrome from the Play Store? It won’t delete the app completely, just the recent updates. After that, reboot your phone and see if it does the trick. Then you can update it again if it works!

This didn't solve my issue.

Have you cleared Chrome's app data and cache? Sometimes, leftover data can mess things up. It’s worth a try if you haven’t done it yet!

I’ve already tried that, but it didn’t help.

Here's a shot in the dark: uninstall Chrome, reboot both your phone and router, then reinstall Chrome. Give that a whirl and see if it changes anything.

Try using Firefox for a bit to see if that works better for you. If it does, you might want to stick with it! You can even throw on the uBlock Origin add-on for a smoother experience. Also, it could be an extension messing things up; maybe consider uninstalling any Chrome extensions before reinstalling.
