Hey everyone! I wanted to get some insight regarding my CPU temperature. My setup can be viewed in this link: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vQYj9C. I've noticed that my CPU temperature hits around 82°C when I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings. Considering it was quite warm (about 30°C) in the UK when I noticed this, I'm curious if this temperature is normal. Should I consider upgrading my cooler for better performance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

82°C is actually fine for your CPU while gaming, especially with a demanding game like Cyberpunk. Your cooler may not be the strongest option for a CPU that can run up to 140W, but at this temperature, you shouldn't be throttling. If you're feeling ambitious and want to improve cooling, options like the Peerless Assassin or the Phantom Spirit would be worth looking into.
Yeah, you can keep it as is! It's not overheating or anything.
82°C is getting up there, but it's not damaging your CPU. You're safe up to 95°C, but if you want to drop that temp, definitely consider upgrading your cooler. Just make sure your thermal paste is applied correctly, since that can impact temps too.
I play demanding games too, and I've seen my Ryzen 7 5800X3D hit high temps. It's pretty normal for these CPUs to run hot during gameplay—just ensure proper cooling and airflow in your case.
How's your cooler performing with those high temps?
I’ve had no problems so far with mine. Just keep an eye on it!
Don't sweat it! As long as your CPU stays under its thermal limits, you’re good. Just make sure to monitor for any spikes or lasting high temps. If you're considering upgrades, it doesn't hurt to have better cooling for the future.
As long as you're under 90°C, you’re in the clear! Still, considering you’re using a smaller single tower cooler, you might want to upgrade later. The Thermalright Phantom Spirit is a solid pick for about $35 if you decide to go that route.
Sounds good! I think I’ll return my current cooler for that one.
I recently got the Phantom Spirit too, and it brought my idle temps down significantly!
I appreciate that! Can I really just keep using it without worrying too much?
