I just traded in my old iPad at Apple, thinking I was upgrading to a new one after scoring a scholarship to my dream university. When I went to the store, they appraised my iPad and said I could choose between a gift card or a direct purchase, so I opted for the gift card because I wanted to engrave it. But when I got home and tried to use it, I found out it was completely blank and not activated! I've called support multiple times, but the first guy had no clue, and the store where I traded it in just hung up on me. I'm feeling really frustrated because I can't get help, and I feel like I've lost my device without any proof. Has anyone experienced something similar? What should I do?

Did you keep your receipt? It should reference the gift card linked to your trade-in, and that might help you sort this out.
You might want to email Tim Cook directly. My wife had a similar issue, and after she sent a clear email, Apple reached out to her within 48 hours to resolve it. It might be worth a shot!
Haha, I might just do that! Thanks for the suggestion!
If you have that receipt, bring it along with the blank gift card back to the store. They should be able to help you fix it, or at least escalate it to someone who can. They don't want unhappy customers!
I do have a digital receipt for the trade, but it only has transaction details and not for the gift card itself. I'm worried they'll think I'm trying to pull a fast one.
