I recently bought an ADATA Premium M.2 Gen 4 SSD for my PS5 with 99% health for just 93 CAD (68 USD). While some games like Street Fighter 6 load noticeably faster, I'm concerned about the speed, which seems to be only about 25% of the advertised performance. My motherboard is an Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming, and it has two M.2 slots: one supports PCIe 3.0, and the other supports PCIe 2.0. I think I'm using the PCIe 2.0 slot, but I'm unsure about the actual generation of the M2B socket and whether that's affecting my SSD's performance. Can anyone help me understand the speed issue?

You got it! When you use a PCIe 4.0 SSD in a PCIe 2.0 slot, you're really limiting its bandwidth. Moving it to the PCIe 3.0 slot should boost the performance, but you'll still be around 50% of the max speed you could achieve with a proper Gen 4 slot. It's good that you're seeing some improvement, though!
It looks like you're using a PCIe 2.0 slot, which is definitely holding back your Gen 4 SSD. PCIe 2.0 only gives you about 25% of what PCIe 4.0 can deliver. For optimal speeds, you should try to switch your SSD to the PCIe 3.0 slot if you can. That will provide a noticeable improvement, but it won't hit the full Gen 4 speeds since that's a Gen 3 slot.
