Hi everyone! I have an Asus Vivobook 16 (X1605V) that suddenly powered off while I was watching a video on YouTube, and now it won't turn back on. I've tried a few things: a hard reset by holding the power button for 30-60 seconds, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, cleaning the removable RAM stick and reinstalling it (even tried booting with no RAM), and plugging it into different power outlets.
Unfortunately, the laptop shows no signs of life at all—the fans don't spin, the screen doesn't flicker, and there's no response at all. I did notice a faint high-pitched whine when plugged in, which changes pitch when I press the power button and goes away when I unplug it. I'm really stumped here! Any suggestions on what could be going wrong? Thanks for any help! (And apologies for my grammar; I'm still learning English!)

I think it could be a dead power brick. Have you tried using a USB-C power adapter? Just make sure it’s at least 65W. If it charges the laptop, then you know the original power supply is toast.
You might be looking at a dead internal battery. There are laptop models that won't boot without a functioning battery, even when plugged in. If your internal battery can’t hold a charge, it’ll need to be replaced.
This sounds frustrating! First, you want to check if the power indicator is lit at all. Sometimes it's just a simple issue like that. But if it’s off too, I’d suggest unplugging the battery and plugging it back in while the laptop isn’t connected to the charger. It might need a reset to get things going again.
