Is ADATA RAM a Good Option for My Laptop?

I'm in a bit of a bind since I need to upgrade my laptop for school, but I'm on a tight budget. I found some really cheap ADATA 2400 MHz 8GB RAM, and while it seems like a good deal, I've seen mixed reviews labeling it as 'garbage.' Before I go ahead and buy it, is ADATA RAM really that bad or is it worth considering?

Before you buy, just check how much RAM you currently have. If it's only 4GB, adding 8GB will definitely help with performance for your studies!

Yep, right now I only have 4GB.

ADATA isn't a bad choice at all! I've got 7 TBs of their SSDs and have been using their RAM without any issues since 2020. The price seems low likely because it's DDR4, which is becoming outdated with DDR5 coming in. But for basic use, 8GB should serve you fine!

Ah, I guess DDR4 is indeed becoming less relevant. Thanks for the heads up!

My Qnap NAS units came with ADATA RAM preinstalled, which seems reliable enough, especially since I’ve had them running for over a decade without issues. It's not premium stuff, but it gets the job done for budget builds. Just keep in mind it's a lesser-known brand.

That's actually reassuring to hear! Thanks for sharing!

I've used a lot of ADATA products over the years—several sticks of RAM and SSDs—and I've never had any major issues. Sure, they might not be the fastest on the market, but they work well for everyday tasks without failures.

I was worried too after hearing people say things like 'It runs for a week.' Thanks for the reassurance!

Make sure to compare prices from different retailers. Sometimes a deal looks great, but other stores might have competitive pricing that will help you make a better decision.
