Hey everyone, I'm attempting to set up Security Onion on my corporate network, but I'm facing a problem towards the end of the installation. I keep getting a message saying that my machine is unable to connect to the Security Onion repository. It seems like it's trying to resolve the domain name for securityonion.net. The odd thing is, I can access the site without any issues through my browser, and I've also whitelisted the domain in our firewall. Does anyone have any suggestions or insights on what else I could try? Thanks!

That error sounds pretty vague. Have you checked if the error message gives you any specific details? It might help to post the exact wording. Sometimes issues like this can be caused by DNS resolution problems or firewall settings, even if you've whitelisted it. Make sure that your DNS settings on the machine are configured correctly.
If you can browse to securityonion.net, but still run into issues during installation, try updating your system's DNS cache. You can also test the connection with a ping command to see if there's any packet loss or delay. If everything seems fine, double-check your install settings to ensure there’s nothing missed.
