I've got this 12-year-old Iiyama 24-inch monitor that just started making a weird crackling sound, kind of like it's arcing. I've worked in tech for a while, but I've never seen this happen before. Since it's an older model with CCFL backlighting, do you think the bulb is finally dying? The noise seems to be coming from the top back of the monitor, not the speakers.

If it’s a CCFL backlight, you might just want to replace the monitor. They’re pretty affordable these days—I've seen options on eBay or at charity shops for under £30! That said, it’s a good opportunity to upgrade to a bigger screen if you’ve been thinking about it.
Yeah, I’ve been considering going for something like a 27-inch myself. This seems like a great excuse to finally upgrade!
