I was using my laptop normally after not turning it on for a long while, and I realized I hadn't updated Windows in ages. When I finally tried to update, it got stuck at 21%, rebooted, and kept repeating that process. After three attempts, I panicked and forced it to shut down by holding the power button. When I turned it back on, I was greeted by a black screen with just a cursor and couldn't even get to the login screen. After a couple of tries, it actually booted up, but now it's constantly refreshing, and I can't do anything. I managed to run CMD in admin mode and initiated an SFC scan. Any suggestions on how to get my laptop back to normal?

That refreshing issue usually means something's wrong with the interface. Can you explain what you mean by "keeps refreshing constantly"? Like, is it randomly refreshing, or does it happen after certain actions? It might help to nail down the problem better.
Yeah, that's exactly it! I've found the way to access Task Manager using Ctrl+Alt+Del.
You might want to try this after your SFC scan: run a DISM command. Type this into CMD: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Also, check your Windows Update Services in the Services panel; stopping and restarting them can sometimes clear up issues like this. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the tip, I'll try that and let you know if it works!
It's like when you hit right-click and refresh, but it just keeps doing it automatically. I can't run anything!
