Hey everyone! I've been trying to set up a new build with some parts I bought (both new and used), but I'm having a tough time. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600X with an ASRock B550M Pro4 motherboard, G.Skill Trident Z RAM at 3600MHz, and an RX 6600 graphics card. The problem is that I can't get any display, and my keyboard and mouse aren't getting detected. I'm seeing a solid red light for both the CPU and RAM on the motherboard.
I initially thought maybe my motherboard had an outdated BIOS version since the seller had an older 5600 installed (the non-X version). I tried downloading the right BIOS version onto a USB to update it, but the motherboard doesn't have a flash button for that. Do I need the original 5600 CPU to update the BIOS for my 5600X? Also, is it possible that my RAM being off the QVL manual is causing this? I'm worried if it is the RAM, how can I change the frequency to 3200MHz without accessing the BIOS? I'm seriously stuck here and need advice on how to move forward. Help!

Honestly, the BIOS version shouldn't be a huge concern here. The 5600X is compatible with what you have, even though they say the 5600 might need an update. To set your RAM back to default, try using the CMOS reset jumper or take out the battery for a bit. Have you had any luck booting with just one stick of RAM? If you have access to another CPU or different RAM, that could be helpful to troubleshoot further!
First off, have you tried resetting the CMOS? It's a good step to clear any issues. Also, I recommend testing one RAM stick at a time to see if that helps. Sometimes, just switching around the slots can make a difference!
You should check if the CPU debug LED or the RAM debug LED is lit. Make sure that all power cables for the motherboard are connected. If it’s the CPU LED, you might have a faulty CPU or an issue with power delivery. If it’s the RAM LED, definitely try swapping the RAM sticks or booting with just one installed.
Yeah, I did the CMOS reset by removing the battery and tried booting with one RAM stick in A2, but no luck with posting. The motherboard still shows solid red lights for CPU and DRAM. I think it might be the RAM after all since I reseated the CPU and checked the pins. Going to get some new RAM sticks later to test this out!
