I'm gearing up to take the DP-900 exam and had a chat with a friend who mentioned that for his certification, there was no camera involved. I'm curious to know how the proctoring works for Microsoft exams in general. Do most proctors require a camera? Are there differences based on whether the exam is in-person or remote?

I think there's usually a camera involved, regardless of whether the exam is remote or in person. If you're thinking about remote exams, honestly, the remote proctors can be pretty tough to deal with.
From my experience with PearsonVue, I've always had to keep my camera on during the exam and maintain a clear desk. I actually got paused once for forgetting to remove my Garmin—so they definitely enforce the camera rule. Just a heads up, though, renewing an exam is usually different; it's open book and no camera needed!
I’m planning to go remote! One of my friends confessed to cheating during his remote proctor exam and still passed. He had his phone out, which got me worried. My main concern is the noise since I live with a big family; I need to find a quiet time to take the exam.
