Hey everyone! I'm looking for some insight into an issue I experienced with my PC build. It was running perfectly until I made a minor BIOS change the other night (I didn't save anything, just exited), and then the system locked up during what looked like memory training. My build includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, an ASUS RTX 5070 Ti GPU, 64GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM, and an MSI X670E MAG Tomahawk motherboard. After exiting the BIOS, I hit a black screen, with solid red CPU and yellow DRAM LEDs showing up on the motherboard. I tried various troubleshooting methods—rebooting, reseating RAM, clearing CMOS, and even reseating the CPU before it finally booted up properly. I'm wondering what might have caused this, if it's normal for AM5 platforms, and how I can prevent it from happening again. Any thoughts on potentially switching to a Grizzly Kryosheet instead of thermal paste for long-term use would also be appreciated!

It sounds like you encountered a classic AM5 issue combined with some RAM quirkiness. The solid CPU and DRAM LEDs usually indicate that the board is trying to do memory training, but it gets stuck due to various factors. I've had similar experiences myself!
For prevention, it's worth unplugging your PSU and pressing the power button for a few seconds; that can sometimes reset things if you run into problems again. When troubleshooting, I’d suggest starting with the easy stuff first—like just one RAM stick or resetting CMOS—before diving deeper.
As for the Kryosheet, it won’t hurt to switch from paste, but just make sure you apply it properly for the best thermal contact!
Good idea! Just keep in mind that memory training can sometimes be essential for initial booting.
