I'm having a weird issue with my Windows 11 computer where Microsoft Edge automatically opens every time I boot up. Even though I have the auto-boot option turned off, it still pops up! If I try to shut it down using the task manager, it just reopens right away. I also got a location popup saying 'Programs using location: Microsoft Edge.' In addition, I noticed something called 'Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection' in the Control Panel's Uninstall menu. The only things I've installed recently are Steam, Brave browser, and Discord, and I haven't really used Edge for anything other than downloading another browser. Could this be a sign of a virus or some kind of malware?

If Edge is still bothering you after checking startup settings and running a malware scan, consider resetting or reinstalling Edge. Sometimes that can clear up persistent issues like this. Just remember to backup your favorites if you have any!
Just so you know, the remote desktop connection is actually standard on Windows, so that part is likely fine. But definitely disable Edge from starting up in your Task Manager if it’s still listed there. Since you mentioned it’s already turned off, maybe there’s something else going on, like a malicious program or a browser hijacker.
If you're seeing Microsoft Edge open unexpectedly, it could suggest some sort of malware issue. You might want to check if you have malware by using a dedicated malware scanner. Additionally, check the startup items in Task Manager to ensure that Edge isn't listed there. It’s good practice to run a scan anyway, even if you haven’t noticed suspicious activity. Several free tools can help with this, like Malwarebytes or Windows Defender.
Yeah, I'd recommend running the scans. Better to be safe than sorry!
