What type of hard drive should I use for my Acer GX-781?

Hey everyone! I just got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it didn't come with a hard drive. I have no idea what kind of hard drive I need to buy. Can I choose any hard drive as long as it meets certain specs, or do I need something specific? I know the PC is a bit older and probably won't run heavy games like Genshin Impact, but I'd like to at least play something like The Sims. I apologize if this is a basic question, and my English might not be perfect! Any advice would be super appreciated!

Thanks for the tips, everyone! How about this one: Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD? It looks similar to what was in there before...

That one won't work. You need a SATA M.2 SSD, which has the same shape as NVMe but uses a different interface. A 2.5" SSD is a solid alternative. Honestly, I'd recommend going for an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive. Any computer from the last 20 years should be compatible with 2.5" SATA SSDs. Just make sure to check if the specs allow for M.2 NVMe SSDs, which are the newer standard!

You should be good with any SATA drive; they'll work fine. Just keep in mind that 2.5" SATA SSDs are less common but still out there.
